Agile Scrum supported by 4me

Software development teams no longer need other tools to plan, track and manage their agile software development projects. With everything available on one platform, 4me removes the barriers between service management and software development and streamlines your organization around end-to-end processes.

4me brings the users, the service desk, the service management teams, and all software development teams together on one platform. A single solution that can handle requests, projects, releases, and all scrum-related activities.

Solid service management practices, product backlogs, sprints, agile boards, release workflows integrated with the CI/CD pipeline, and project management: it is all available on the 4me platform,  seamlessly integrated.

Main 4me features to support Agile SCRUM

Product Backlogs

A product backlog refers to a prioritized list of functionalities a product should contain.  One could call it a to-do list of enhancement ideas that need to be resolved to improve the product.

In 4me enhancement requests can be added to a product backlog with one click. And ordering the items in a product backlog is just as easy: drag and drop them in the preferred order.  With the 4me product backlogs the product owners and development teams have a powerful tool to organize and prioritize the requests received from the business.

Story Points

For a development team to decide which enhancement requests to include in a sprint, it is important to understand the workload these requests represent. In 4me, it is possible to add an estimate for complexity for each of the items on a backlog, often referred to as ‘story points’ within the Scrum framework. This is basically a unit of measure for expressing an estimate of the overall effort required to fully implement a product backlog item.

With the story points visible on the product backlog, the development teams are able to make good and fast decisions when evaluating the best candidates for the next sprint.

Agile Boards

For organizations that want to take an agile approach to managing their workload, agile boards can be very helpful.  Whether an organization prefers Kanban or Scrum, both are agile methodologies that will benefit from the ability to set up agile boards in 4me.

In 4me, each team can fully configure its agile board by defining the number of columns and their names.  The columns can be dragged in the preferred order after they have been added.  For each  column attributes can be set to further finetune and automate the team’s preferred workflow. As an example, editing a column allows its WIP (Work In Progress) limit to be set.  It also allows the automated action to be selected that needs to be taken when an assignment is placed in the column.

Once a board has been configured, it is possible to add all kinds of assignments to it: enhancement requests, incidents, problems, workflow tasks and project tasks. With the 4me agile boards, the development teams have complete control and visibility over the actual workload.

Sprints

In SCRUM the development teams organize their work in sprints.
The 4me platform gives the possibility to define sprints, start these sprints from the agile board and link the items included in the scope to the sprint.
