Time-limited validity of all Global Best practice certificates

Since the beginning of the year, Peoplecert has introduced new rules for the validity for all Global Best practice certificates.

In an effort to help candidates stay ahead of the competitive job market and ensure they are up to date
information and skills in the given areas, it will be necessary from 2023 to renew all Global Best Practice certifications after three years. This renewal requirement will be implemented as part of PeopleCert’s Continuous Professional Development Program to assist candidates in their path of lifelong learning.

This limited validity of certificates applies to all Global Best practices.

All candidates will therefore have to renew their certificates within three years of their original dates
certification. What can it mean for you?

  • If you are certified before June 30, 2020
    • it is necessary to renew the certifications by July 1, 2023, regardless of the original date of issue.
  • If you are certified after June, 2020
    • it is necessary to renew your certification(s) within 3 years of the original date of issue.

Methods for renewing your certification

As of January 15, 2023, two renewal methods are available:

  • Repeat the same test
    • You can renew your certification by retaking the original exam before the renewal date.
  • Complete additional courses and certifications
    • You can renew your certification by attending another course and taking an exam within the same product category before the renewal date.

From March 2023, a third method of renewal will be available to candidates:

  • Collect and record CPD points
    • You can renew your certification by collecting and recording CPD points (further details will be provided later)

Candidates who do not renew will continue to be included in the Successful Candidates Register
(SCR)
and Candidate Verification Service, but a note will be added to their record that their certification does not meet current requirements and needs to be renewed.
