To achieve the designation, you need to pass two exams, which can be scheduled separately and taken in any order.

The exams are in online form and consists of choosing the correct answers from the given options.
The exams are of the “open book” type.
Candidates should use the ‘ITIL Car Rental Scenario’ which gives background information that the questions apply to.

Exam 1 – ITIL Transformation (Version 5)

  • 40 questions, while at least   questions (70%) must be answered correctly for successful completion
  • The length of the exam is 113 minutes (90 minutes for English native speakers)

Exam 2 – ITIL Managing Professional Transition – Product, Service, Experience (Version 5)

  • 60 questions, while at least   questions (70%) must be answered correctly for successful completion
  • The length of the exam is 150 minutes (120 minutes for English native speakers)

The validity of the ITIL® MPT certificate is 3 years.
